Understanding GIF Speed

GIF speed is controlled by the frame delay, measured in hundredths of a second. A delay of 10 (100ms) gives roughly 10 frames per second. Lower delays mean faster playback; higher delays mean slower motion. Most browsers cap GIF speed at about 50 FPS regardless of the frame delay value.

When to Change GIF Speed

Slow down action scenes to see details. Speed up screen recordings that are too slow. Create dramatic slow-motion effects. Sync GIF timing with music or other media. Fix GIFs that play too fast or too slow on social media platforms.

No Upload Needed

Your files stay on your device. All speed adjustments happen locally in your browser. No data is sent to any server.
